Toren Berios: A Jack of All Trades
September 29, 2026
For Toren Berios, music has never really been just about making songs. It has always been about building a world around him.
Born and raised in Mississauga, Ontario, Toren first started producing music when he was 12 years old, and started working out of a local studio when he was 16, and connecting with artists and producers in the area. After graduating in 2022, he spent a year at Metalworks, a music institution in Ontario, where he developed his technical skills, mastered Pro Tools and worked with professional recording equipment.
But the technical side was only one part of the equation. Toren was already developing a sound and aesthetic of his own.
His earliest musical influences came from EDM. In middle school, he got influenced by artists like Skrillex and Deadmau5, as well as music from channels like NoCopyrightSounds. By high school, his attention had shifted toward the underground. Around 2019 and 2020, he was listening to artists such as Summrs, Autumn!, SoFaygo, Ken Carson, Midwxst, KanKan and Yeat before many of them reached the level of mainstream recognition they have today.
The SoundCloud era left a particularly strong impression on him: melodic production, rage beats, hyperpop and the experimental energy surrounding the scene. Artists like Jades and Kiryano also became part of that mix, combining elements of EDM and rap in ways that expanded what he thought music could sound like.
His entry into the scene was largely built through relationships. Rather than immediately working directly with major artists, Toren would often send melodies to producers, getting his name into different circles. Those producers would then pass his work along to other producers or artists. Sometimes one producer would create the melodies, another would handle drums, and together they would finish the record and split the credits.
It was essentially a chain of connections: one person knew another person, who knew another person.
Eventually, those connections led to collaborations and placements involving artists including $not, DC The Don, KanKan, Yeat, Midwxst and Iayze. For Toren, getting those placements could feel surreal. These were artists he had spent years listening to every day. Hearing his own production become part of their music came with the kind of excitement that was difficult to separate from disbelief.
One of the moments that stood out was “Woosah Freestyle,” a song by KanKan featuring production from Marko & Jayya, other long time friends and producers. The track became a major milestone for him, eventually passing 420,000 streams on SoundCloud alone.
Another was “Lil Skatty” with Yeat and TwoTimeVae. The song was officially released in January of 2022, but reuploads across YouTube and SoundCloud started to circulate, eventually accumulating more than a million streams across platforms.
“RedEye,” a single by frequent collaborator KanKan from his 2021 EP “##B4rr,” had a couple million streams across all platforms. His work on TyFontaine’s “Rae Addison,” featured on the deluxe version of his 2021 album Ascension, Virtual World 2, included appearances from artists such as Trippie Redd, Lil Tecca, Nick Mira — all diamond RIAA certified artists — as well as Summrs and Pasto Flocco, making the placement another significant point in Toren’s development. There was also “WHO THIS?” by DC The Don & $not, released in spring of 2023, that accumulated over half a million streams on all platforms.
But some of his most important creative relationships began much earlier.
TNA & TNA2
TNA is Toren’s first album. It’s a collection of songs produced by him to showcase his sound. It’s hard to pin a genre or category for Toren’s music as it’s more than an mp3. It’s emotions that make you feel like you’re levitating. The same can be said about TNA2, which was released four years later. The sound improved, quality elevated, numbers grew, and the art and craft was mastered more and more. It reflects on Toren’s overall sound. It was chill, laid back and catchy.
Eclipse Vol. 1
Dropping on October 4th of 2025, Toren & close friend and collaborator Kizzy released Eclipse Vol. 1. Toren describes the project as “An obscuring of the light from one celestial body by the passage of another between it and the observer or between it and its source of illumination.” Eclipse is a collective of artists, producers and geniuses curating art. Making music with meaning. Eclipse involves Toren, Kizzy and four other producers including, Jaime, DreMadeThis, Cruize & Normies. Toren & Kizzy put their all into the project, and all the trials and tribulations they overcame with music since they started has been put into Eclipse Vol. 1.
Toren met Kizzy in Grade 9, when they were freestyling at a studio. The two gradually became closer, eventually becoming frequent collaborators and really good friends. The relationship works both ways. Toren taught Kizzy how to produce, while Kizzy eventually taught Toren how to rap. About a year ago, Toren began stepping further into rapping himself, expanding his role beyond production.
That same philosophy of collaboration carries into Eclipse, as well as the larger world Toren has been creating around his music.
One of those worlds is Vibeland.
Vibeland
Vibeland isn’t simply a music project to Toren. It is an environment. The idea is to create something that takes people somewhere else — a feeling, an atmosphere, almost a euphoric state. The name itself reflects that idea. The project extends beyond the music. Boltdidthat worked on the cover art, the same mind behind the cover art for 2 Alivë, Yeat’s 2022 studio album that charted at #6 on the Billboard 200 and was certified Gold, with songs on it being certified Platinum. It is scheduled to release on September 30th.
SKWN
Toren has also been developing SKWN, a clothing brand focused on custom pieces and unconventional combinations of streetwear. The goal isn’t necessarily to make something that fits neatly into an existing style, but to create pieces that stand out — pieces that feel like a statement.
Toren is also inspired by his peers in Toronto who as well as being musicians also run creative brands, such as Human Nature from Oshawa, associated with talented artists like Cndwdkb aka The Difference, 1ormy, and RTXchrome. Another brand is Variety Camp, promoted by artists like BurgaWyms, and AyoNoDeji, who is a frequent collaborator featured on the Vibeland Album.
That experimental approach has become part of Toren’s identity. Music feeds into fashion, fashion feeds back into the music, and the two exist within the same creative universe. SKWN is even referenced throughout much of Vibeland, making the clothing brand feel less like a separate business and more like another extension of the world he’s building.
For Toren, experimentation is important because creativity itself is difficult to separate from everyday life. His production process starts with something as simple as the day he’s having. The energy of the day gets transferred into the beat. Whatever emotions or thoughts already exist become part of the production, allowing the music to feel less manufactured and more personal.
“You just gotta let yourself flow out of you,” he explains, describing art as an expression of who you are and what you go through. For him, that authenticity is what makes the work meaningful.
One of the artists who helped define an important period in that development was Midwxst. At the time, Midwxst was still pretty underground and was deeply involved in the emerging hyperpop scene. Toren was already tapped into that community and saw how much potential existed within it. Working around that scene introduced him to new people, new sounds and new approaches to production.
Looking back, he considers that period a major turning point. It pushed him to become better at production while simultaneously expanding the number of people he was able to create with.
Still, when asked which music resonates with him most, his answer isn’t necessarily one of the biggest artists he’s worked with. It comes back to Kizzy.
Because they know each other beyond the music, Toren feels that Kizzy’s music carries a different weight. Their chemistry comes from years of friendship and collaboration, making the songs feel like a reflection of the person he already knows.
“I just feel like because I know him as a person, his music resonates with me heavy.”
That connection to creativity isn’t limited to Toren himself. It is something he grew up around.
Both of his parents are artists in their own ways. His mother works in photography, shooting weddings and themed photoshoots while also designing and building sets. His father is a painter who works with abstract pieces and collages, sometimes combining different paintings with materials like tape and string. Their influence can even be found physically in the spaces where Toren creates. His father helped paint and work on the studio Toren used, including the walls and carpets.
Both parents have supported his creative path, giving him an environment where making things has always felt natural.
Today, Toren lives in Guelph, roughly an hour from Toronto, but the distance hasn’t separated him from the communities that shaped him. If anything, his work continues to blur the lines between producer, rapper, designer, adult actor & creative director.
He has already spent years moving between different scenes and disciplines, from EDM to SoundCloud’s underground to hyperpop, from production to rapping, and now from music into clothing and visual culture.
There is no single lane he seems interested in staying inside.
For Toren, that might be the point.
